What is the recommended air tube for air compressor air pipe?
Oct 28 , 2024

When selecting an air compressor tubing, there are many factors to consider, including working pressure, corrosion resistance, mechanical properties, environmental adaptability, aesthetics, safety factors, and regulations and standards. Here are a few common and recommended types of tubing for different application needs:

1.Stainless steel tubing: highly durable and corrosion-resistant, suitable for extreme temperatures and corrosive gas environments. The smooth surface is less prone to dirt and bacteria, ensuring the cleanliness of the conveyed air. The stainless steel material is non-flammable, which increases the overall safety of the system. Especially in flammable and explosive atmospheres, stainless steel pipes provide an additional line of safety.

2.Aluminum alloy tube: lightweight and easy to install, good corrosion resistance, cost-effective. Suitable for wet or slightly corrosive gases with relatively low maintenance costs.

3.Nylon tube: It has excellent chemical resistance and can resist the erosion of a variety of chemicals. It has good flexibility and can reduce damage caused by vibration and movement to a certain extent. Low cost, suitable for projects with limited budgets or frequent pipe changes.

4.PU pipe: able to maintain its physical properties in a wide range of temperatures, with good wear resistance and flexibility and elasticity. It is suitable for outdoor or environments with large temperature differences, as well as systems that require frequent adjustment of air pressure.

5.Galvanized steel pipe: is a common material used to transport compressed air, has a long service life and prevents rusting. However, the coefficient of friction is high, it is prone to corrosion, and it must be handled by a qualified installer.

6.Copper tubes: corrosion-resistant, easy to cut and weld. It is lightweight and often used in plumbing. However, compared to aluminum tubing, copper tubing has more time and cost for crimping and welding.

7.Plastic tubes: Inexpensive, corrosion-resistant, and easy to install, but there are some contraindications when used to distribute compressed air. Not all plastic pipes are suitable for compressed air distribution, as PVC pipes can expand and burst under high pressures, which is a safety hazard.

When selecting the air compressor air pipe, factors such as the application environment, cost budget, installation convenience and safety should be comprehensively considered. Stainless steel and aluminum alloy pipes are often preferred in industrial applications due to their superior properties and characteristics. The specific selection also needs to consider the installation environment and specific needs. Nylon pipes and PU pipes also have their unique advantages in specific environments due to their special chemical and physical properties.
